Instead of Black Friday discounts
We are donating to the Düsseldorf Women's Shelter
Like every year: instead of a Black Friday discount battle, we donate a portion of our sales to a social project.
This year, it's the Frauenhaus Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf Women's Shelter) – a safe haven for women and their children who have experienced physical or emotional violence.
This project convinces us with its direct, practical help and the clarity with which women in acute emergencies are supported. Creating security, providing orientation, developing new perspectives – all without much fuss, but with enormous impact. As an all-female team, this issue is particularly close to our hearts.
rikiki donated 10% of online shop sales from Black Friday, 28.11.2025, to the Frauenhaus Düsseldorf.
Until the next Black Friday, you can add a small donation yourself at checkout. We pass on all donations in full to the Frauenhaus Düsseldorf monthly.
Düsseldorf Women's Shelter: a safe place for women and their children
Violence against women is not an isolated phenomenon. For many women in Germany and worldwide, it is an everyday reality. Often invisible, it occurs where it is least expected: within the family, in intimate relationships, or in one's immediate social environment.
Domestic violence robs women of the place that should provide security: their own home. In extreme cases, this can mean having to leave: abandoning their daily lives, sometimes abruptly, sometimes with children, often without a clear plan.
In precisely such situations, Frauenhaus Düsseldorf offers a protected environment. Anonymous, safe, and accessible, it provides women and their children with temporary accommodation and peace when physical or emotional violence shatters their lives. The goal is not only to offer immediate protection but also to support women in finding stability again, regaining their autonomy, and gradually returning to a self-determined life.
The women's shelter offers more than just a roof over their heads. It creates space to breathe, to find peace, and to even begin to comprehend what has happened. The staff works impartially – meaning they clearly stand by the women, empowering them, encouraging them, and assisting them with sorting things out, structuring, and making decisions.
And help here means many things at once: psychosocial counseling, accompaniment to authorities and ensuring subsistence, support with daily organization, and guidance on legal issues.
The concept of the women's shelter is based on empowerment: women should rediscover their own resources, regain self-determination, and gradually build a life that is their own – regardless of what this path will ultimately look like. Help for self-help: the staff accompanies this process professionally, respectfully, and without pressure.
The team consists entirely of women: social pedagogues, an educator, and a domestic staff member. Additionally, volunteers provide support as needed. Together, they create a place that supports without overwhelming.
In short: Frauenhaus Düsseldorf is a sanctuary that not only provides immediate refuge for women but also supports them in getting back on their feet. Gradually, respectfully, and always with an eye on their own strength.
