The Gigi lighting collection by French designers warren + laetitia consists of a series of colorful modular pendant lights. The Gigi Lamp XL is assembled from six interchangeable parts to create the final shape.
The Gigi lights are manufactured using 3D printing in the Paris studio from recycled and recyclable plastic bottles and industrially compostable bioplastic made from corn starch (rPETG + PLA).
rPETG is a polymer made from recycled plastic bottles. For 1 kg of rPETG, 79 plastic bottles are recycled. Objects 3D printed with rPETG can be recycled at least 5 to 6 times by going through the same process.
PLA is a bioplastic made from corn starch and is therefore a natural alternative to polyethylene. It is called bioplastic because PLA is made from natural raw materials, which makes it a recyclable, biodegradable and industrially compostable material.
