TIPTOE's mission is to produce sustainable furniture that is well designed, well crafted and durable. Based on these values, TIPTOE spent several months developing this collection of tables and shelves made from recycled plastic - a glimpse into the furniture of the future.
TIPTOE wants to show that it is possible to create objects from recycled plastic that combine beauty and timeless style and are durable. Beyond mere recycling, these extraordinary designs make you completely forget what their material was previously used for.
Almost unbelievable: Around 100 yoghurt pots are needed to make the top for a VENEZIA table. This explains the white coloring of the top. The collected plastic waste is processed into chips and then pressed - without any binding agent. The color spots come from the label fragments - a small hint of the previous incarnation. VENEZIA is a reference to terrazzo, the famous tiles that are also traditionally made with mineral residues. Each VENEZIA table is unique and has its own individual story made of plastic.
The initial lifespan of the raw material is radically changed. A product like a yogurt pot, which was created for an extremely short, ephemeral period, becomes a worthwhile, solid product. The tables and shelves in the collection are durable and useful for several generations. It is a continuous cycle: the newly created product is itself 100% recyclable.
Care: The table tops are resistant to stains and moderate heat. Recycled plastic is a noble material that requires due care. To clean the table or shelf, simply wipe with a soft and slightly damp cloth. The material is sensitive to certain chemical substances such as solvents, thinners and strong cleaning agents. Spilled water, wine or other drinks should be cleaned up quickly.
