Card game with 52 cards
When we imagine our ideal partner, we often have ambitious and yet far too vague ideas: we might want someone who is "cheerful", "nice" or "sweet". However, it is easier to find someone when you know what you are looking for, so it can be helpful to define your ideas more precisely.
This card set will help you narrow down the characteristics of your ideal partner. The habits and characteristics described on each card will make you think about what is really important to you and what you can accept if necessary. In short: this card set will guide you on the path to better relationships with realism, insight and humor.
Instructions
1. Place the cards in the middle between the players. Each card shows two opposing character traits - one on each side.
2. The first player takes a card from the pile and reads out the two characteristics printed in large letters to the player on his left. The player must now decide which of these two characteristics his ideal partner should have and why. Also ask the player to explain his reasons with examples from a) his childhood and b) a previous relationship.
3. Go around clockwise until the deck is used up and each player has a small stack of cards in front of them.
4. Now each player should narrow down their selection to just six cards - the characteristics of their ideal partner. Then each player has to explain to the others why these characteristics are so important to them in a partner.
5. Then all players turn over their cards. On the back of each card is the opposite of the desired characteristic. Now each player explains to the group why a partner with these characteristics would be so off-putting, frightening or traumatic for them.
