The makers of Take Me To The Lakes were not only drawn to the bathing areas, but also to the holiday homes, hotels and farms on their shores. They travelled from Berlin through the south of Brandenburg to the Baltic Sea, discovering hidden lakes along the fields and meadows, trying freshly baked fruit cake, hiking on country paths through almost untouched nature and taking afternoon naps under chestnut trees. Often it was already too late to turn back. And so the day trips became weekend trips.
The WEEKENDER EDITION BERLIN now presents the 50 most beautiful accommodations near water: whether lovingly renovated farms, architect-designed houses, stylishly furnished apartments or idyllic hotels - the people who run them are portrayed and provide a personal insight into their life in the country.
